Melrose CFO to retire, successor announced

Ross Mccluskey

Melrose Industries PLC’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Matthew Gregory has announced his intention to retire in 2026, with Ross McCluskey to replace him as Group CFO.

Matthew has been with GKN Aerospace and Melrose Industries CFO since 2022, overseeing the business’ transition into a standalone, listed aerospace technology leader during that time. Matthew will continue in-role for the Group’s full-year results announcement on 27th February 2026, remaining with the business to ensure a smooth handover to Ross, who joins the business in May 2026.

Ross has extensive listed company executive experience and deep financial, commercial and operational expertise across large, international businesses. He is currently Executive Vice President EMEA and Government and Trade Services at FTSE 100-listed Intertek Group plc, having previously been Group CFO at the company. Prior to that he worked at Inchcape plc where he served in a number of senior finance roles, including as UK Finance Director and Australasia Finance Director. During his earlier career he worked for leading investment banks including JP Morgan and Greenhill & Co.

Peter Dilnot, CEO Melrose, said: “Matthew has been an excellent CFO for the business and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him in the months ahead. I am also delighted that Ross will succeed Matthew. His seasoned leadership and significant financial experience will be invaluable for Melrose as we execute our growth strategy and unlock our full potential in the years ahead.”
