Defence engines

We are dedicated to ensuring the availability and airworthiness of the RM12 engine, which powers the JAS Gripen 39 C/D. We are currently establishing the same support capability for the RM16 engine, which powers the JAS 39 Gripen E.

Our responsibilities span the engine’s entire lifecycle, including design, development, manufacturing, assembly, certification, maintenance, repair, overhaul and technical product support. This holistic approach ensures that the RM12 remains operational, reliable and mission-ready throughout the aircraft’s service life.

Combined with the pooling concept for the Gripen fleet, which allows multiple nations to share resources, parts and logistical support, we ensure peak performance and reliability while delivering significant cost savings.

We are the type certificate holder for the RM12 engine. This means we are responsible for maintaining the engine and ensuring it complies with safety regulations throughout its lifecycle. 

We provide comprehensive services that include spare parts optimisation, fleet management, maintenance and repairs. These tailored solutions are designed to reduce costs and enhance engine performance, ensuring that the aircraft’s engines are always available and mission-ready.
