We want to create a culture of sustainability in our organization – more eyes to see, more brains to think and more hands to accelerate change

At our Trollhättan site in Sweden, the Sustainability Champions initiative translates the Group’s climate commitments into practical action at site level. Representatives from multiple functions work together to promote energy efficiency, emissions reduction and greater employee engagement in sustainability across daily operations.

In 2025, the Champions supported awareness campaigns, training and internal communications linked to events such as World Environment Day and Zero Emissions Day. Progress is reviewed quarterly with the site steering group, with learnings shared across the Group and the initiative now expanding to additional locations, including the Netherlands.

One example of the programme’s impact was the introduction of a reusable transport box system for large components shipped between Sweden and the US. Replacing 332 single-use packaging boxes with 52 reusable marine-plywood units delivered annual cost savings of approximately £130,000 and reduced emissions by 13 tonnes of CO₂e.
Additional activities included displaying the carbon footprint of meals in the site restaurant, supporting an energy-saving study on indoor temperature settings, encouraging low-carbon commuting through a free bicycle repair programme, assessing lower-carbon construction materials for site projects, and reusing office furniture and IT equipment. Together, these actions help strengthen a culture of climate awareness and continuous improvement across the workforce.
