The Covenant is a UK government initiative – for companies and public sector organisations – to acknowledge and understand those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, and ensure that they are supported.

It recognises the unique circumstances of armed forces personnel and their families, as well as the wealth of experience and skills they bring.

GKN Aerospace has a corporate partnership with X Forces Enterprise, and has committed to support the serving and veteran community as part of signing the covenant. We are also sponsors of an award category for the Soldiering On Awards.

Mark Miller, GKN Aerospace signatory and UK business development director, defence said: ‘I am absolutely delighted that GKN Aerospace are now signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant which is an important public statement of our commitment to the serving and veteran community. As a business we benefit hugely from the skills, experience and talent of those within the armed forces community and so it is right we offer support and recognition for them – both for their roles in GKN Aerospace and their service.

‘The covenant is a vital first step towards developing a real understanding of our serving and veterans population within GKN Aerospace wherever they are in the world – in order to offer support for them and their families and celebrate their service.
