GKN Aerospace has invested considerable resources in its capabilities in recent years and through strategic acquisition has gained access to new markets and complementary technologies and capabilities. Some of our key business sectors and capabilities include:
• Integrated aerostructures: acting as a design and build First Tier partner, we support aircraft manufacturers in moving titanium and composite materials deeper into aircraft. Providing the latest in advanced manufacturing processes for major assemblies and components
• Engine products: we are responding to our customers’ needs to provide a full range of hot and cold section engine products from components through to complete module design, manufacture and assembly
• Integrated propulsion systems: services span design, test, manufacture and certification covering the integrated propulsion system as well as major sub-assemblies such as inlets, EBUs and thrust reverser systems
• Transparency systems: we supply specialist canopies through to passenger windows for both military and civil applications. Specialist proprietary coating technologies that extend the life cycle of systems and reduce maintenance requirements
• Advanced material applications: in material applications we design and provide full fuel systems including tanks, pumps and gauging, emergency flotation systems (EFS) and precision seals and gaskets
• Integrated systems: Providing the latest in systems such as electro thermal ice protection and embedded smart structures
• Engineering services: on a stand-alone project basis we support our customers with engineering capabilities ranging from proof of concept, through to production and life-cycle management of aircraft components from the smallest to very large structures.
